Implant Procedure Overview
Your initial examination
An evaluation of your health and your bone and gum tissue is necessary prior to scheduling dental implant treatment. It is essential that your bone tissue can support the procedure. A bone graft or sinus augmentation will be recommended to add support for your implant if necessary.
Your oral surgery procedure
You are provided anesthesia during implant placement to help assure a comfortable procedure. The dental implant is placed into your jawbone, a temporary restoration is provided to allow the site to heal, and you are given post-op instructions to promote necessary healing.
Your healing and recovery
It is essential that your implant site heal fully and properly. Three to six months is the average time required for your dental implant to adapt to your gum and bone tissue.
Your permanent dental restoration
A permanent tooth will be attached to your implant after the site completely heals. Your dental crown will fully restore your tooth function and appearance.
